Meet eco artist Elaine Murphy
Where in the World? Our first eco artist joins us from Ireland: Elaine Murphy’s artwork for our Wearin’ the World Collection™ was inspired by her travels across the beautiful northern California countryside in the U.S.
Born in Cork, Ireland. Raised near a national wildlife park, eco artist Elaine Murphy grew up loving the natural world. Her philosophy – especially regarding the quest for renewable energy sources – is that we always need to be gentle on the environment. A lifelong fascination with maps and travel inspired Elaine to explore the cultures of India, Southeast Asia and Europe. It was the her travels to northern California, however, where she found her art inspiration for the Wearin’ the World™ Collection.
Shared Goals. Elaine resonated immediately our plan to use nature-inspired art and fashion to send a message to the world about environmental awareness. She also loves the fact that Dhana™ apparel gives kids the power to carry the message.
Her artwork carries soft elements from nature as well as delightfully creative depictions of alternative energy sources.
Elaine’s message to socially-conscious kids is:
- Be more thoughtful of the environment.
- Realize the power you have in making an impact on the environment.
- Be conscious of the amount of energy you use, and learn about alternatives for renewable energy.
- Be more in touch with nature. Appreciate the natural world by growing plants, flowers and trees – even if you only have room for a flowerbox!
